Michael Boyd is a designer from Bentonville, Arkansas whose interests in design lie heavily in the digital realm, especially with User Experience and Digital Product Design. What he loves most about design is the ability to create something that people can use to — hopefully — improve their lives in one way or another. Michael’s degree project aims to streamline the process involved in handling the belongings in an estate — an industry he and his family have been a part of nearly his entire life. Outside of design you’ll probably find him gaming, spending time with friends and family, eating Chick-fil-a, or a mixture of all of the above.

Michael Richard Boyd is a designer from Bentonville, Arkansas who grew up in the estate sales industry with his family’s business, Dollarhide Estate Sales. As someone who grew up in the business, he saw how stressful managing an estate can be. As a designer, he knew there was room for improvement within the industry and that there was potential to make the entire process smoother for everyone involved. With this in mind, he proposed and designed an app called TAG, which aims to bridge the gaps between the client and the estate sale agency.
Transparency in business practice is such an important aspect in any business model — especially for small businesses that don’t have the benefit of a large, well-known brand name to count on. From how the client finds, researches, and selects an agency to work with to how an item is priced and sold, TAG is there to help clients through this stressful time in their lives.
